A group for retro mac casters to share all things iPhone and iPod Touch related

Advice and help on coercing yourself or significant other into utilizing the touch interface found here.

Welcome to the group! Why have a group like this with a bunch of people who are fans of antique machines? Because the antique machines we know and love were part of a revolution started by Apple, a computer for the rest of us. These devices are a part of another revolution, our life in our pocket!

While we do like to gaze upon yesteryear, we also should take note what is going on in the present and into the future. Besides, it won't take too long for the original devices to become yesterday's news.

It is hard to remember life pre-iPhone, and now we're already thinking about iPhone 2! In this
photo you can see I was still in good spirits despite waiting in the Florida sun for 12 hours.

Its hard to remember life pre-iPod touch too! I know there's an iPhone in my future, but for now the iPod touch has been amazing to use and I just love it! James I remember when you first told us that you had an iPhone in hand and I remember seeing that photo you just posted! I was SO excited to hear all about it. I can hardly wait for apps to start coming out of the SDK, and the next iPhone. I may not be able to resist...

Yep, I agree, I use my iPhone so much it's difficult to imagine not having it in my hand, or my pocket. I'm away from home so often, 72 - 100 + hrs a week. It's quite a boon to have my calender, e-mail, notes, web access, all that with me. I find I don't open my Powerbook as often as I use to. Last week I was working a few night shifts, and my co-worker and I were watching a few episode of one of my favorite TV shows on my iPhone. I think he is now going to get in line for the next iPhone. He was very impressed. Awesome! That's usually all it takes to make someone a convert, is a little exposure.

I am really anxious to see what apps are going to be available in June from the iTunes store. I love, love, love my iPhone, but there is not a lot of room available for apps.

Amazing, just like Kathryn, how many co-workers have been convinced to get an iPhone having stared over my shoulder or across the room and had the 'owner tour' - admit it, you all have one, right?

Especially looking forward to the apps... but a bit worried about my wallet for iPhone 2. Wonder what potential killer function will get me to upgrade despite iPhone 1 still feeling so new and capable. Will 3G, GPS & better camera be enough?... hmmm... I'll probably go with heart rather than head as usual....

Hi y'all. Wanted to say I'm developing software for this little guy, so thought I'd drop in to say hello. Been following the maccast since episode 7, though been a bit busy development wise to follow what's happening up here on the web. Anyways, hi!
