I ordered a Power Mac G4 MDD 1.25Ghz with a Superdrive and a 250Gb HD last week. Anxiously awaiting it's arrival.

Great you'll love it, I love mine.

I hear they're great! I wont even have to do anything except add an AirPort card.

It finally arrived, but I haven't had a chance to run to Best Buy and pick up a DVI to VGA adapter yet, so I can turn it on, eject the Superdrive, and put it to sleep, but not much else.

I finally got to use it today, and I found out that, while it was advertised as a dual core, it is only a single. REALLY IRRITATING! I dont recommend buying from "dansbakesale" on eBay. He is the seller. Also missing the promised Zip 750 drive Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh! We'll see how he handles this. I requested that he send me the dual core processor and Zip drive free of charge.

Kaleb, What a drag. I would be interested to hear how the seller responds. I have a good friend that has promised me his dual core machine at the unbeatable price of free. Im am not sure about the specs yet. I should have it in a few weeks. I am really looking forward to adding it to my growing collection.

He said I would have to send it back or take a $40 refund for the processor and a $20 refund for the Zip. I decided to take the refund.vApparently, he ran out of the Zip ones, and had forgotten to change the description because no one had cared yet. Also, he got these from his work and so he assumed they were all dual cores, but you all know that companies can be very inconsistent with hardware. First, you have a whole fleet of iMac G4's, then suddenly there's one or two eMac's in the mix.

A good friend of mine just gifted me a duel 500 MHZ G4 tower with 1.75 GB of SDRAM and a 250 GB hd. It has a DVD drive and an iomega zip drive. He had Mac OS X server 10.4.11 running on it? I am not server expert so I am trying to decide if I should educate myself or just install the regular version of OS X.

What do you think?

This machine brings the total macs in the house to six. At what point can I call myself a collector?

I would back up the server partition to a disk image so you could restore it to use at a later date if you wanted to.
