Where great old Macs live again!

This site: http://www.applelogic.org/CARTEBLANCHE.html is tracking the production of a brand new and VERY new card for the old Apple // line. The description there is a little complex so I'm going to break it down (poorly, forgive the simplifications) so that more of us can grok just what it means.

Carte Blanche uses an FPGA - Field Programmable Gate Array - to emulate any number of older and some newer (and not yet thought of ) peripherals for Apple // //e //gs and /// (//gs and /// support pending some testing). This allows this hardware to replicate the function of things like SCSI cards, disk drives, even VGA adapters for the Apple //. This is amazing stuff and I don't think any of us have any idea the awesome things we could use it for to make our old toys even more neato.

Check it out!
