Where great old Macs live again!

Aftermac and I are both IT guys, during the day sometimes we chat on gchat, anyways we were talking about how cool it would be if you could take an Apple IIgs 800k External and slap a superdrive in it, Best of both worlds right? anyways yes, its just that simple! pull out out the 800k drive and pop a superdrive in there, it will still work great with the Apple IIgs too! Aftermac beat me to it, i was still digging around for a extra Superdrive. Finally found one and installed it. works like a champ with my SE 800k and my Classic II!

I'm sure someone, somewhere, has probably already done this, but I thought it was a pretty cool upgrade providing that you have the spare parts laying around. I never got around to posting when I upgraded my drive a couple weeks ago. :)

I normally prefer to leave equipment in it's stock configuration( unless something is broken), but this makes the drive infinitely more useful.
