The first mockup picture is the visualisation of a futuristic wristwatch computer called TimeBand.

Comment by Finkmac on July 28, 2012 at 12:05pm I wonder if TimeBand 2 featured QuickTimeBand...
I wonder how it was supposed to be controlled...is the yellow thing a trackball? And the icon on the left edge looks like a printer...but what would you print? Faxes?
Comment by Lim Thye Chean on July 28, 2012 at 7:22pm Think so - using the yellow trackball. Don't think they thought of touch screen at that time. Probably wireless printing.
Comment by GDB on July 29, 2012 at 2:23pm Oh puleease! You do realize that this was not a machine that actually existed. If it was ever anything more than a graphic image, with an actual physical form, it was only a plastic toy. To set the item in perspective, you can find among similar AppleDesign items a handheld machine that prints money. Yeah, right.
The image/ mock-up (whatever it was) did have a more serious point, which was (in dreaming industrial design dreams) to ask what ubiquitous, mobile computing might actually look like. The group got it wrong (up to now, anyway), because that has turned out to be a tiny little phone rather than a great big wristwatch.
Comment by Lim Thye Chean on July 29, 2012 at 5:41pm Yes, we are discussing this mockup assuming that it is real and how it will operate if it is real.
