Comment by Jason McCormack on July 30, 2012 at 12:18pm I love the frameless keyboards... The Snow White IIe is pretty nice also.
Comment by Lim Thye Chean on July 30, 2012 at 5:48pm Yes! That keyboard for Apple IIGS. Unfortunately I don't have any. I assume the Snow White IIe became the Platinum IIe.
Comment by Jason McCormack on July 30, 2012 at 6:37pm I think I have 3 IIgs keyboards. Definitely one of my favorite keyboards. They still have a thin frame around them. Definitely a derivative from the ones pictured. I'm sure the number pad and arrow keys were added after Steve left. I'd love to have one with arrow keys, but without a number pad. :)
You're probably right about the IIe... It's actually kind of surprising this design didn't make it to market considering the IIc and IIgs used Snow White.
Comment by Lim Thye Chean on July 30, 2012 at 7:03pm I have 3 Apple IIGS and I don't have the keyboards. :(
Well, the platinum IIe is probably evolved from here, after adding a numeric keypad.
Comment by Jason McCormack on July 30, 2012 at 8:38pm That's too bad... if you ever get the opportunity you should pick one up. I used one for YEARS as my main keyboard... until I replaced my B&W G3 with a G4 and no longer had ADB. I picked up an iMate and used it again for a while with G4's, but eventually opted for a USB keyboard with an eject button after Apple eliminated optical drive buttons from their computers.
