before i installed the 500mb scsi drive in the mac se, this is what i was using to boot and run the machine! it worked quite well, 100 mb space is not to shabby, decent access time!

its not any more / or less reliable then a vintage hard drive from 20 years ago.   if that is your point?

the trick to the Zip Drive is......  Keep everything clean!,  no dust,   Keep the disks in the case, keep the case in a pack or in a drawer,  if a disk starts to act up at all... Throw it away,  toss it out do not use it.. its just not worth , losing more data or messing up the heads in the drive.  follow those simple rules and you can get lots and lots of use from your IOMEGA Zip Drive...   also... do not drop the zip drive.... may sound like common sense, but you never know these days!
