The book is a good read. I prefer the original movie with Edward Fox, but it is macless.

Yes it was perfectly now. I open it up, cleaned it with some swabs and IPA, then lubricated it with some lithium grease. I also cleaned the heads with a cleaning disk.
November 11
It must have been used somewhere really dusty, but I don't know where. It does work perfectly now.
November 11
It's okay as it is.
November 10
Needs some dramatic side lighting and a dark background.
November 10
Nicely done!
November 10
Yep, this machine has the best startup sound of them all, even the TAM.

Macintosh Restoration Part Two

I have just taken delivery of a Macintosh Plus and a Macintosh SE. Both were very kindly given to me,
by a university lecturer who has just retired. Both machines where stored away in a back room, not being used
for years. He found them when he was cleaning out his belongings and did not want them to be skipped.

I have chosen the Plus, to be the machine that I will work on to continue my blog about restoring and cleaning.

Macintosh Restoration Part One

Introduction
I have been asked to blog about my cleaning and restoration work few times. So this is my attempt to explain the
processes that I go through. I should start by saying that I have no professional training in electronics or working
inside Macintosh computers. Everything I have learnt is from reading books and articles online. Therefore I can not
take any responsibly if you damage your machine or yourself.

Tools and Aids
I will start with my work area, I have mine set up… Continue

LC 475 & System 7.5.5

My wife is away for a couple of days, so I decided it was a great opportunity to look at my new Macs and see what's what. My focus turn towards the LC 475, as this was the only one which booted. I was pleased to note that the LC 475 had 36mb of RAM and a 160mb hard disk. Along with its 25Mhz processor it made it my most powerfully 68k Mac.

The first job I tackled was to back up the contents of the hard drive and add any new applications or utilities to my collection of old software, I keep on a… Continue

Five New Macs

I recently won five Macs on ebay for £5.50, they where sold as not working or for spares. I thought I would give it a try and see what I get. The Macs where located about two and a half hours away from me, so I had to wait for a spare Saturday morning to go and collect them.

The journey down there was trouble free, I met the seller and loaded up with my new toys. Then seller had collected them from local car boot sales, but had run out of space and wanted to have a clear out. He still has a Cla… Continue

I admire your photography, wish I could do so (but the digital era has taken this from me; my celluloid eaters do work - but I can't pay for that anymore) and I found some funny parallels, the Flying Toasters (I made a 15s-video) for instance.
I left a few explanations near your latest comment on my photo (actually this is a scan !).
