I maybe buying an Apple Emac for my mom to use as her own computer. She's a little intimidated to use my mid 2007 iMac! I set up an account for her, but she wont use it. I told her I'd get her a…Continue

I have been fascinated with the Apple Lisa ever since I first saw a screen shot of it. As I watched a couple of demo videos on YouTube I thought, "This is so like modern computers even if it looks a…Continue

I was wondering if I hooked my TAM up to an Airport Base Station via it's 10Mbit Ethernet card, can I add my TAM to a wireless network?? I know this maybe a straight forward answer for most the…Continue

I used to be a confirmed Windows user, that couldn't stand the Mac OS. I've been into photography for years, and want to be a photographer when I grow up! Since I'm 31 now, I should probably do that soon!! LOL!! But as I got more into digital photography, and not getting an interview to be a photo assistant just because I didn't know Mac OS X, I thought I need to get past that. So in January of 2008 I bought my very first Mac, an Aluminum iMac!! I got the 24" iMac, with 4GB of RAM, 2.8GHz Core 2Duo Extreme processor.
James & John, along with the stories on Macintosh Folklore Radio, and The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Macintosh, has inspired me to start my own Apple Computer Collection!! Spring of 2010 I took delivery of a Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh I bought in Eureka Springs, Arkansas for $100. In the fall of that same year i got an Apple IIe with at least one 5.25" floppy drive, monitor, and Apple printer! The uncle of one of my co-workers is selling all this Apple IIe equipment to me for $150. Then I downloaded the Lisa Emulator from the Lisa Emulator Project's website, and recently started working with Mini vMac to emulate a Macintosh Plus!!
I'm having a great time here on the Retro Mac Cast Web Site!! I have a growing blog here on the site, take a look at it, and leave me a comment! I like feed back. I'm also thinking of making my own "Hackentosh" down the road, even though I've never built a computer before!
Some of the Apple computers I'd love to own one day are: any kind of Lisa, Apple //c, Apple //gs, 128k Mac, Mac Plus, Mas SE, Mac Portable, Indigo G3 iMac, a G4 iMac, and two more TAM's!! I'd love to have a complete TAM in perfect original condition, and one that's cosmetically perfect, but maybe not working. I'd like to take that one, and upgrade it like one I saw on You Tube. It had a touch screen, parts from a Mac Mini, a blue Ray player, and Mac OS X Snow Leopard on it! That would be an awesome TAM indeed!!!! :-) :-)
A little about me: I'm a 31 year old guy that lives in Springfield, Missouri. I've loved photography since I was in elementary school, and would love to go into either commercial photography, or photojournalism! I graduated from Hillcrest High School here in Springfield, and will have worked for Bass Pro Shops for 12 years on June 16th, 2011.
If you want to know more, just ask! Feel like getting to know me better, or just want to say hi, comment, leave me a wall comment, or send me a message through my profile here on the Retro Mac Cast Site. You can also get to me on Facebook here! Or you can check out my new Apple Blog, "The Apple Journals" here! I hope you enjoy my work there, and please feel free to leave me comments!
Happy Macing everyone!! :-) :-)
Well I've been thinking about this ever since I started listening to podcast a little more than three years ago, but I really want to do a podcast! It started after I got my iMac, and started downloading podcast for my iPod Touch I had at the time. I've had trouble trying to decide what I would do a podcast about though. I love tech, but don't know a lot of the "how to tear down & reassemble" of the industry. I love food, and know a lot about it! I also love photography, and music. I…

If you've looked at my photo gallery here on the Retro MacCast site, then you've seen that I have one of the 22" original acrylic framed Cinema Displays! I bought it last year, and have loved it ever since hooking it up. The only problem has been that it's not the display I thought I'd bought! I thought I was buying the 23" High Definition version of the display I ended up with. I got it at a great price: 22" Cinema Display, matching 15" Studio Display, and the ADC to DVI adapter all for…

So it's been a little bit over 3 weeks since I got my hands on an iPad 2 on launch night! I've been using it almost everyday since then, even replacing my iMac as my normal web browsing machine. I'm even doing some of my own writing on Pages for iPad, instead of using MS Word. And it has a lot of really fun stuff on it too!! I can now see why Steve Jobs…

On Thursday February 24th, Apple announced a much anticipated update to it's MacBook Pro line of notebook computers! Apple updates most of it's products on a regular basis, many being about a year apart. It's been a little longer than normal since Apple has refreshed most of the MacBook line, though they did update the MacBook Air back in October of last…

I still am searching, but the day will come.
There must be one in Europe sooner or later !
