"I pick this for any of your presentations; they're breathtaking, absolutely wonderful to look at. And you can fire up most of them immediately! That's great. Keep on collecting! How much time do you spend for dust sweeping :-) ?"

My QuickTake Photos

I've just recently gotten a QuickTake 100 camera and just yesterday I got a QuickTake 150. The 150 holds twice as many photos as the 100 at the highest quality setting : 16 compared to only 8!!

I have been using the PhotoFlash editing software that comes with the QuickTake 150 software. It is very easy to use and it is a much nicer viewer than QuickTime for photos. The QuickTake 100 software would cause my WallStreet to lock up immediately upon attempting to connect to the camera, so I am… Continue

What got me started collecting Macs

This was my reply to Kathyrn's question, but I figured I'd add it here, too, in case others had the same question.

You asked what triggered me to get into Macs and then start collecting them. Well, I guess you could say I'm part of the iPod Halo effect, in a roundabout way. Back in 2003 I was trying to view something online with my old Dell (I don't own it anymore - I shipped it off to my brother who uses it as a video/photo server. Don't worry about him, though, because I gave him… Continue

My collection is of the Jonathan Ive creations. I love the bold whites, bright colors and simple yet elegant designs.

My favorite operating system is Tiger, although I did upgrade three of my Macs to Leopard, and some of my older Macs are running OS 9 and OS 8. I'm pretty much completely out of room, but if I could find some more space, I would like to get some of the older Macs and Apples, too. I wish we had basements here in Florida!!!

Welcome Heather! Wow! 23 Macs in just over three years -- that's a pretty good pace. You're not far from my Grandmother, who lives in Deltona.

Very impressive, I noticed you tend to lead towards the clean, white, soft lines. They look really displayed together in this collection.

What was the trigger that got you to go Mac in the first place, and then to become a collector? I would love to hear more. I thrilled when I find another female Mac collector.

Welcome!

I love your photos! I'm especially enjoying the one of the Cube. There's a Cube for sale locally here on Craig's List and I am SO tempted!!

I just brought home a Cube! I see you have at least two? I've wanted one for some time and finally found one this week on Craig's List. It's SO cool! I love my Cube!

That is a great story, it was not the normal iPod to iTunes, to iMac progression. That's QT, to iTunes, to iPod, to iMac! That's definitely a round about.

I agree with your comparison, or description of your Mac collection as your art collection. I was just looking at the the design awards Apple just got for the iPhone and the iMac I think it was. It was on the D&AD page, the black pencil award (which I had never heard of before).

So, sounds like art to me! I do like the colored iMacs also, they are so cute. I have the graphite, and would like add a Ruby, and a Flower Power to my collection.

I'm glad your macs are running better, but sounds like the 20" iMac is going in soon. Don't touch the MacBook Air! OMG! It was beautiful, light, another work of art. It's very, very dangerous to touch!

Me, I have to stay away from the black MacBook. To me, that is one sexy machine. I hope they don't do away with the black.

Thanks! Those are great Cube tips!! I have the matching LCD display so it has a nice "look". I'll have to take some pictures. I've just begun a little basement remodel and I hope to have a Mac Museum of my own soon. I want to paint the cement floor with all the Mac OS logo designs. We'll see - it may take me awhile!
