Glad to hear you're doing well! I have been good! I just finished one of my college apps last week, and I am gearing up to work on another. I got to celebrate by visiting MacWorld. I took my QuickTake with me, so I hope the pictures came out well! QuickTakes are nice, but 20x zoom sounds amazing! I've been considering buying an Ultrazoom camera. Can't make up my mind, go SLR or Ultrazoom? I'll be thinking about this for a while.

I just realized that my iMac is three years old too! 17" seems so small compared to the 24". Good luck with the dolphin photos! Do you shoot them in single frame mode, or continuous?

Thanks! Welcome back! We missed you. (Obviously our standards aren't terribly high, but it's still a compliment)

Hi Heather:
I read about your //gs and I just got one too! This one was free but has no monitor, keyboard, mouse, cables, or external drives, or anything.... But was free... so can't complain. I'm now searching Craigslist so I can get what I need to get it up and running. I found a complete working //gs system close to home, but the seller has not responded to my email so I'll keep trying. Then I'll have to ask you and Wholly Mindless what to do with this pre-Mac piece of happiness!
PS: I got my 19th Mac yesterday - a free (yay!) 512k and it's beautiful!! Came with everything including the Apple tote.
I've been busy with work and life, but hope to get on the RMC site more often now. I've enjoyed your posts alot!

Most definitely! Any of us will answer your GS questions - either out here or on the Pre-Mac Goodness forums. If we don't know the answers, we'll make it up! (or figure out where the answers are.)

Hi,
A "mid resolution" would be great if it was on the QT150. I think 320x240 is just too small- any fine detail is lost in the picture, unless it takes up the entire frame.

My QuickTake Photos

I've just recently gotten a QuickTake 100 camera and just yesterday I got a QuickTake 150. The 150 holds twice as many photos as the 100 at the highest quality setting : 16 compared to only 8!!
I have been using the PhotoFlash editing software that comes with the QuickTake 150 software. It is very easy to use and it is a much nicer viewer than QuickTime for photos. The QuickTake 100 software would cause my WallStreet to lock up immediately upon attempting to connect to the camera, so I am using… Continue

What got me started collecting Macs

This was my reply to Kathyrn's question, but I figured I'd add it here, too, in case others had the same question.

You asked what triggered me to get into Macs and then start collecting them. Well, I guess you could say I'm part of the iPod Halo effect, in a roundabout way. Back in 2003 I was trying to view something online with my old Dell (I don't own it anymore - I shipped it off to my brother who uses it as a video/photo server. Don't worry about him, though, because I gave him an iBook G4… Continue
