So, I have this video. It's ~50 minutes, and is .mov. I try uploading it here, and it uploads. But then when it processing, somewhere down the line, it fails, and I get an automated email response. This is really frustrating as it has done this t...

Ok, I just came to the sad realization that I may not be able to get 7.0.1 running on the plus. 7.0 was made on 800k images, but 7.0.1 was high density only. Unless my old SCSI Apple CD caddy load can read a burned CD with the images, I will be s...

If you could let Nathan know, I have a Macintosh Plus with 1mb of RAM, AND an Asante EN/SC adapter for ethernet, I would be happy to test grackle on that. I just need to dig out all the hardware, and find or make a 800k floppy, hook up the hard dr...

They did sell the Apple II boards by themselves, see here: http://www.macmothership.com/gallery/MiscAds2/1977IntroAppleII2.jpg Though the one in the auction is using an Apple power supply, maybe they ordered that separately, who knows. Still, $36...

How did you hear about RetroMacCast?
One of the many sites that mentioned this, have been listening since around Episode 10, went back and listened to the early ones. Stopped listening in September 2007, caught up, stopped listening again in August 2008, but am now back and trying to catch up.

My Collection

I have a Macintosh Plus, my earliest, and one of the converted 128ks or 512ks, a HD20 (non SCSI), A Macintosh Classic with 4mb of RAM and 40mb HD (tricked out!!), a Workgroup Server 8550 and 9650, A few B&W G3s in various states of disrepair, a few broken iMac G3s, a few broken eMacs, a couple Wallstreets, and my recently decessed iBook G4.

Non Macs:
An Apple IIe unenhanced with updated KB, with 3rd party 64k/80 column card, and SSC card, a Apple IIe Platinum with Apple 64k/80 column card, SSC card, and GraphiCARD. An Apple IIc in perfect condition with 9" CRT, Disk IIc, Mouse IIc, imagewriter cable, ROM 255 and serial port timing fix. 3 Apple IIgs machines, 1 Woz edition ROM 3 with 2.5mb of RAM I cobbled together, a eMate 300, and a Newton 2000 with keyboard, dongle, case, and wavelan card, an Imagewriter I, a few Apple monitors, a bin full of no less than 50 Apple mice, dozens of Apple keyboards, mostly AppleDesigns, including an AppleDesign new in the box, and a full Uhaul medium box filled to the brim with old and rare software.

Tons more stuff, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Will go through my collection, and update it later.

Getting Grackle 68k working on my Macintosh Plus 1mb

After listening to Episode 140 of RMC, I was inspired by Nathan's request for someone to get Grackle68k working on a 1mb machine.

So, I dug out my very first mac, my old Mac plus, with external hard drive, and Asante EN/SC SCSI ethernet adapter. I formatted the hard drive, and reloaded System 6.0.8 on it. The old installation was all gummed up with my old inits, and with less than 128k of free RAM available.

After reloading System 6, I put Grackle68k on a floppy using my Powerbook 540c hooked… Continue

yesyesyes - the software will be placed well in the http://macintoshgarden.org/, there are things you've never expected to see again, lots of memories and fun stuff.

So we're back to what James wanted you to, a year ago :-)
I'm one of the usually unorganized, a little bit chaotic guys - still paying more attention to cumulating things rather than restoring, I have to find a better balance and - sad but true - I will have to sort some of them out; some of the machines I have will never return to 'life'. But sometimes something in good shape then makes me proud enough to present it, as my latest entries.

And since I have six or seven black mice (ADB II), there'd be one for you...

Yes, of course - anything else were absolutely unaffordable. I don't know how shipping costs are calculated, by weigh, or dimensions, or both. Speaking of the analog boards only, what would that be - a kilogram for the three you wrote about. So how and at which price may they be sent to Europe ?
I'm always short on money - this collecting hobby is eating my resources :-)

That's a very attractive offer (the analog boards for the iMacs - I've set the same note on that photo), I think they will (work with 235 V - that is what we have here now), because what comes out of the AC/DC converter has to be the same. But I don't think I can afford the shipping - if you can figure that out, please tell me the estimated costs. I once found out the shipping of a black 5500 to the U.S. is about 150 $ US...
