Nothing too exciting. Back in the late 90's I was chatting in some obscure AOL chat room with other Apple guys and I mentioned how I wanted an old , cheap mac for my kids to use so I could actually use mine. One of the guys offered me "an old mac" that his kids had used but no longer needed. I would only have to pay shipping from California. I said "sure" and gave him my address. He gave me a price on the shipping and I sent him a check. I received the Mac before he got the check and I noticed that the shipping was actually a lot more than he charged me. I tried to contact him to send more money, but he simply disappeared. Inside the box was the green Color Classic II. There was a letter explaining that he was a retired Apple engineer and he got the Mac when the project he was working on was complete, and to please give it a good home.
I've had it ever since. I just powered it up again yesterday and it still works great!
