The carrying case box is a real find, nice. I knew they were an option, but like yourself never saw the box. I love the Picasso style artwork.

Anyone have a working PB 165c out there? Im having major issues and I can't work out the issue. I believe the FSTN displays are junky after all this time - anyone had any experience?

ah, classic 190/5300 with that white pape hanging out from the LCD bezel.. lol.. I wonder if it had the plastics replaced under the recall program!

Yes, the carrying bag box was a surprise to me too. I actually thought until this time that the carrying bag was a standard accessory in the box with a "Mac" like the portables and some PB 1xx's

Lisa Long Weekend

So almost 2 years after i got my first Lisa, I've finally done something about getting them running.

You have to remember, 26 - 27 year old components are a bit temperamental, and I've had to do my fair share of electrolytic replacements in the Lisa and Profile power supplies, as well as the voltage regulator repairs I'll speak f another time.

So what's new I have learned this weekend,

a) At memory address line 240, the first 20 characters represents the serial number of the machine. There is… Continue

My Lisa Memoirs

The Apple Lisa II
By Adrian Franulovich 28/2/07

I recently purchased an Apple Lisa II for my extensive museum and cache of Apple Macintosh History. I originally thought I would steer clear of anything that wasn't mac related but the Lisa definitely holds a major place in Apple's history.

First of all some things I have learned to help make sense of the whole Lisa range.

Apple released a few flavors of the Lisa, the Lisa, the Lisa 2, Lisa 2/5, Lisa 2/10 and Macintosh XL.

Interesting things ab… Continue

A friend in Australia recently asked where I got my Lisa's from. I purchased one from an ex Apple employee on eBay, he had other but they were not selling very quickly and I ended up buying 4 of the 5 he had on offer. I then recently got given two heavily damaged machines as spares, of the 6 machines, I have 3 that work, however, to get them going cost me in addition to the purchase price around $500USD plus about 50 hours of hard work. I still dont have a functional keyboard. Id advise, as long as you get a list with Power issues and a working keyboard, you should easily enough be able to get the PSU and Video Board repaired as they use fairly standard parts. Everything else is very specific.
