What Happened To The First 10 Apple Employees

I've been on a Mac Folklore Radio listening marathon and it made me wonder what some of the characters in the stories have been up to.  I didn't find any recent articles but did find this article form April 2014.

The first news article written about Apple

Interesting article over at business insider India that includes pictures of the article written for Kilobaud magazine (February 1977). The article also includes the writer's (Sheila Clarke Craven) recollection of the interview that took place while both Woz and Steve were still working out of Jobs' garage.…

More stuff.

I went to the thrift store for a pot lid, saw this poor Quicksilver and took it home. It's in good shape, though it didn't have any RAM (I needed to order PC133 for my Cube anyway). 733MHz model, 40 and 80GB hard drives, DVD-RW drive, and a graphics downgrade to a Rage 128. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it just yet, but I'm excited for the possibilities. A new GPU and…

3D Printed Mac with Raspberry Pi

This is a tutorial on how to build a mini Mac Classic using a Raspberry Pi. The colour they chose for their case is a bit off ;-)

The case design not supper faithful to the original Macs but it is okay. I have 3D printed them in white and am going to spray paint mine in beige.

Macworld Magazine, 1984-2014

It's official. After the November 2014 issue, print editions of Macworld Magazine will not be made. Here is a great article by former PC World editor Harry McCracken about the demise of Macworld. Digital editions will still be made and the website will still be online, but it won't be the same without the print versions of Macworld.…

My Collection gets a little bit bigger. And repair project.

After about a year I finally bought 3 new mac's (in the list NEW ADDITION).

1 Powerbook 140 (the trackball won't work), 1 PowerBook 190 (everything is okay) and a PowerBook 190cs (hard drive missing and screws are missing. On some picture fully disassembled.)

My new project is to try to fix them.

The 140 could be easy to fix and let's hope it's just dirt and not completely broken,

The 190cs was untested because the hard drive is missing. I hope I just have… Continue

Apple and IBM Depart from Past Hatred

Tuesday July 15, 2014 - Apple and IBM come together to make iOS a lethal threat in the enterprise market. The tech giants announced a new partnership that looks to revolutionize mobile device use in enterprise with customized apps and services for iPhone and iPad.

When I first heard this news, I thought immediately of the infamous picture of Steve Jobs standing in front of the marble IBM wall giving the middle…

Ultimate Fan Project: the Apple One Replica

Thank you for welcoming me to this cool - retro - community! I was so pleased to hear my name in the welcome address in the podcast right after having submitted my candidacy (and which happened before I even saw the welcome email, that was awesome)!

I always loved Macs, always had one as the first computer I owned was a "Pizza Box" (LCII), it was in 1995. This wasn't a breakthrough in industrial design, but I was very happy to be able to write my term papers on such a cool UI at the…

My small collection.

Hi all! I've used Macs on and off for years. First ones I used were in kindergarten, and I believe they were LCII's (not positive on that.) I still remember when the school got Bondi Blue iMacs, which were very different and seemed cool.

Didn't have any contact with a Mac (or anything Apple related) from about 2001 on, until I got my first iPod (a green 2nd Gen 4GB Mini) in the summer of 2005. Upgraded to an 8GB Touch Christmas of 2007, shortly after they'd come…
