Where great old Macs live again!

Hi all, just letting you know, I've updated from 10.5.6 to 10.5.7 on a Macbook Pro. I had a few updates to download other than just the os X update, so it took awhile. The problem occurred when I restarted the machine, when it had showed the desktop all was fine, then the airport icon was turned off. A bit strange, but when I clicked on it to try and reconnect to my network, it would not allow me to turn on airport?????? What the???? I opened system preferences, still the same. I rebooted, no change!!! I rebooted again, then it didn't recognise I had an airport card installed at all?!?!
I rebooted one more time, then all was fine. I know there can be issues when updating the OS, but that doesn't make me feel comfortable when the Gremlins come to town.

I'm wondering if it messed with the permissions. Also, I've heard of updates causing multiple restarts before all is well, but it's the machine that reboots it's self a few times.

Yeah the worst I've heard of when updating is a friend with a g4 15", updated his 10.4 and couldn't reboot!!! Oouuuuucccchhh. He rang a bit frustrated but we worked our way through it. Not the nicest experience when waiting for the new goodies.
