Even though things are tough at the moment, do you think each and every one of us could donate $5 by mid year? I think that money would go a long way to improving this podcast even further. I personally don't think a small thank you to these guys is out of order. What do you think?
That is nice of you to solicit on our behalf. Do you have any suggestions for how we might improve given more funding? Right now, donations help pay our hosting fees (Libsyn, Flickr, etc) and with that out of the way we were able to get new microphones earlier this year. To be honest, I'm not sure what comes next if we were to get a sudden influx.
Some high quality portable recording equipment. You both seem to attend some pretty cool events, even just notable people that you come across out in the field? Either way you'll always be upgrading no matter what, it's endless where you can go with audio.
We actually seldom get opportunities for recording on the road. This last Macworld was an exception. I have a Zoom H4 for remote recording which works fine for the rare chances we get. Someday, I would like to get some pro-level level mics and a firewire mixer -- perhaps I just save toward that goal.
Well, pro level mics and a firewire mixer would be another asset you could use? I think it's a good idea to have some money in the bag, see how you go? It's a nice way for all of us in the retro community to say thank you.
