Where great old Macs live again!

wow its been a while since I posted about my blue and white G3, well here is what I have done to it:

- Installed Mac OS 9.2.2 on it.
- added a 18.25 GB hard drive along with the 12.69 GB hard drive already in the system

I was weird when i first opened it I discovered that there was a G4 processor in it but the system wasn't upgraded in any way even the processor in the slot says that it is a G4. I thought that maybe it was a hardware bug but when i use the hardware test CD it was listed as a G4. well thats it for now, more to come...

Yes, the Yosemite G3 and Yikes G4 shared the same motherboard, so the processor 'upgrade' was just a straight which.

That drives me crazy - there was a 'naked' G4 processor out of a, as it read, 'running' b/w sold.
I asked if it would fit in my G3, the answer was: No !

Hi Lars,

I believe that the G4 from the Sawtooth onwards do not work in the Yosemite, so it is likely that it was not from the b/w (and the reason they were selling it?)

I never found out what these damn names stand for, my G4 is blue and grey (never has it been 'white' !), has a 733MHz processor and the lousy 16MB AGP graphics, was extremely expensive for professional use (maybe with better graphics), a sound card not better than in a PB 1400, louder than an airport and I think they sold it for the money ???
And they look like brothers, the b/grey 350 G3 and the G4 !
