Where great old Macs live again!

Hi everyone, I started clearing out my Mac collection a couple of months ago. Have moved a fair bit on, but currently selling two of my favourites of the lot. My Blue Dalmatian iMac and my Apple IIe with original monochrome monitor on ebay in Australia. It's one of those times when you think, well it was fun while it lasted, but unfortunately we need the space and I am keeping a few for the odd occasion when I can sit down and use them (rare these days).  I'm sure most of you have been through this at one point or another? I'm keeping my 128k, a IIe, 233mhz iMac, 9600 tower (this thing is a screamer) and a PB 1400. That is not counting my current equipment, but you understand. Has anyone else been through a Cleansing?

I dread the day I begin selling off my collection.

Well you'd have to hire at team of experts to clear your gear. I only had 57 machines, well comparatively speaking is the ONLY. I still have quite a bit of software, but nothing too rare. Cheers.

It will have to happen one day, maybe a few more years yet. Will be one hell of an eBay sale!

Maybe after completing a few things around the house (pergolas, concreting etc) I can look at a TAM. What I'd really like to find and would find even harder to turn down is an Apple III.

I've cleaned out about 1/2 of my collection.  Mainly iMac G3's that I didn't really need, Apple clones and beige systems such as 5500's and 5400's.  I was happy to just give them away really as they weren't really of any value (to me anyways) and hoped that they might spur on a new collector.

I'm currently in 2 minds at the moment in rehoming your Dalmatian as I live about 15 minutes from Officer.  It's interesting to see that we both have machines that the other lusts after.  I still don't have a 128k but have a fully functional TAM.  I too couldn't turn down an Apple III, but I think a Lisa or MacXL would be just as hard as well.

Good luck with your decluttering and I'm sure you won't regret it or look back.  I felt relieved after getting rid of some of the stuff that I didn't really want/have the space for.

Computers are difficult to collect compared of lots of other things. They take space, a lot, when we are talking about serious collections..

I am doing simiar, trying to sell/trade/giveaway some machines that aren't that special, kind of trying to have the best/the most interesting machine per type or prosessor type. Also giving away or even trashing some barebone cases i have.

Just have to admit, can not collect all.
