Where great old Macs live again!

Wholly Mindless

I was thinking...

I was thinking that there were now enough of us predisposed to the older systems that we should probably bring our love of the old machines to a more private place to keep from driving the newer MacAddicts nuts.

I can't believe that when I first created this group that I forgot the Apple ///. Whoops.

I can see what you mean, however I feel that the Mac is kind of an evolution of what pre-dates it. Similar to the idea that "senior citizens" have a lot to offer the younger members of a community, I feel that leaving the old stuff around with the new stuff could only add to ones appreciation of the Mac, and offer an opportunity to learn about how it came to be. IMHO.

Well maybe. Just maybe they will tell us to leave. Back in the days of Apple User Groups, The Mac people would be reate the Apple II users. If you did not have the latess and greatess machine, they did not want to hear about anything new coming out for the Apple II. Till just about all the Apple II users quit coming.

Even when I had my Woz IIgs signed at an Apple User Group, I mean Mac. While walking in line., one OLD person that was sitting in a row of chairs Turned to me out of the blue and said I had my Apple ONE signed by WOZ. Then look forward like he was better than all the rest. Brought those memories back. It was a bit of a sad day. Even the Woz, seemed to have distant himself from the II, when he talked. Everything was about the Mac. Maybe he did have more to do with the Mac than the Apple II. Sure seemed that way.

Do not worry about the MacAddicts, I guess if they have a problem with us, it is not us. But not be able to think differently.
