Where great old Macs live again!

Wholly Mindless

16 Sector Madness

Changes have been made to the site 16 Sector and I've got to say that I'm pretty freaked out.

Any comments?

Freaked me out too, until someone mentioned they think it was updated on April 1st.

I found this link that I think I'm going to have to follow up on (and explains why there's a // gs browser image on 16sector...)

Note that the 16 Sector page has been up for a while and that the guy that owns/runs it is a very trusted Apple // enthusiast. Whatever is coming, I'm sure its no joke.

I thought Firefox GS has been a joke for a very long time (I asked about it). This image I have seen before.

It appears to need a pretty beefy GS configuration but Ewan Wanop's Spectrum Internet Suite appears to be the browser shown. It's not new but it does recommend both a 4M+ machine and 3.5M of disk space and mentions that an accelerator would be a seriously good idea.

The image says "Firefox: Apple" and has a Firefox logo (this is probably a joke). I also believe that Spectrum does not show image.

You're right. I forgot about that. (I noticed the usenet conversations about this image too)

Is anyone any closer to figuring out what this 16 sector site is all about? The suspense is killin' me!

The reports I've heard from the site owner is that we have to wait until Kansas Fest to find out! But that doesn't mean I'm not going to keep looking and wondering!

Updates from A2Central.com about the 16sector.com site. Apparently it was up for a bit but was turned back off by Tony.

You'll need to see http://a2central.com/portal for the story as I don't want to ruin the surprise for Tony in case it was a mistake.
