Thank you for continuing to help me to get a apple II. I tried to look at the page but it wouldn't let me, even thought i had signed up... Do you know why ?
I have place an ads on Craiglist, and see what happened. I don't put in much hope though, since there aren't many Apple IIGS in Singapore in the first place.
I have seen them on TV once. But I do not know who operates it. Both of them were around for a while before I knew of them. Not quite like EBay, but you have to check at least once a day. Postings come and go. More people = more items.
The stuff that is in the free area, usualy goes with in minutes over here. Now whether or not they ever pick it up, is another thing.
Hamfest which have been around for ever, use to be good place to get things also. They never, never advertised. Not always great, but you never knew what was around the corner or under the next table. Not sure if they happened anywhere but the US. Dayton Ohio has one of the biggest ones.
Here is the URL for the Hamfest Locator.

They appear to be mainly in the US only one in Canada.
Who operate this? Looks cool, but I try even "iBook" and "iMac", there is no match in Apple sales ("MacBook" has a few entries). Actually I have bought and sold a lot of computers in the past, and have never heard of this - I am not sure how popular this is.
Much easier to show you then to explain. Free posting for alot of things, in a lot of areas. Just type in Apple in the search box and you bring anything up in the for sales and related areas.

They have them for the surrounding areas as well. But no Apple IIgs. But that change from day to day. You could post you would want one. But you still have to deal with the scammers and crooks, out there.
Not sure if they have a freecycle or CheapCycle in your area.
Freecycle is free. They can not charge for the items they offer.
You might try talking to the schools to see if they have any exchange students. If they do then you might ask if they could bring back some old compute and or parts for your son. Mailing the items in the US is no big deal.
Just trying for a way for you to get a IIgs for your son.
