Hello everyone,

Even though things are tough at the moment, do you think each and every one of us could donate $5 by mid year? I think that money would go a long way to improving this podcast even further. I personally don't think a small thank you to these guys is out of order. What do you think?

the next thing that i hope to get is an adapter for my Quadra 660av so can network it with my G3, I'm going to need one of those AAUI transceivers so i can use Ethernet, but hear is the catch. my mom is one of those people that didn't want me to have a computer in the first place. but three computers later she said I could (maybe fourth one is in order now). i made a… Continue

Russian Subtitles now available for free!

The Mac community is truly incredible, I’ve received an email , from Dmitriy “pharaon” Remezov, from Russia. He asked me where he could get Russian subtitles for MacHEADS, unfortunetaly because we are an small independent production team, we couldn’t find the funds to do subtitles in different languages. Dima wasn’t deterred, he made an incredible effort and translate the film and also went into the sound studio and added voice over! So now dear… Continue

Hi everyone! Fun with my macs....

Long time listener, 1st time poster! Just wanted to say hello to everyone. It's great to know that I am not the only guy around who loves obsolete old computer hardware! I had a IIcx for a couple years that i bought from my brother-in-law. I was using it with a 28.8 modem to access AOL and had a riot! I was hooked. About a year later, I helped my mother-in-law buy a brand new performa 630CD at a BestBuy store. She used it for awhile, then bailed on the mac for an IBM. So, I got to upgrade to… Continue

No Mac Knows My History

I was introduced the world of personal computers through my sixth grade class. It was a Belle & Howell "Darth Vader" Apple II. I was 12 years old (or possibly just turning 12). It was love at first sight. Little did I realize then that my life would continually revolve around computers from that point on.

I actively pursued a computer for our home, much to my parents' chagrin. Our financial situation wasn't in such great shape at that time. In 1983, we got a TI-99/4A. I was… Continue

Hello, been listening to the retromaccast for a couple of months now, thought I'd finally join up. I also listen to the Mactalk Australia podcast and Mac OS Ken on a regular basis. (via an iPhone in a windshield mount holder in the car on the way to work)

I unfortunately gave away my Mac Plus and Apple II in appox. 2000, didn't see the point in keeping the Apple due to emulators and the Mac Plus, well the Classic II does so much more in a similar form factor. I really should have… Continue

Hi, This is my first post. I joined because I saw a post about a damaged MacTV. I own one and am getting ready to put it up for sale or trade. I appreciated the packaging info in the 'damaged' post. Any suggestions are welcome. I am open to offers....i.e.-my daughter needs a ibook for school (trade????). This MacTV is running OS 7.5.?, and it has original CD tray caddy, keyboard, mouse, remote, manuals, and other goodies such as Symantec Disks (unopened), includes Clarisworks on it, an extra… Continue
